معرفی
Dr. Jana Sticht is an affiliated researcher in the Protein Biochemistry group led by Prof. Christian Freund at the Free University of Berlin. She holds a PhD in structural virology from the University of Heidelberg and joined the Freund Group as a PostDoc in 2005. Her research focuses on MHC class II peptide presentation mechanisms using NMR spectroscopy, alongside contributions to structural virology studies.
Education:
- Bachelor/Master in Biochemistry - Free University of Berlin
- PhD in Structural Virology ("HIV-1 capsid assembly and its inhibition") - University of Heidelberg
Research Interests:
Her work combines structural biology approaches with immunological questions, particularly exploring how MHC class II proteins present peptides to T-cells. Utilizing advanced NMR techniques, she investigates molecular mechanisms underlying viral capsid assembly inhibition and antigen presentation pathways.
Recent Research:
Contributed to development of novel clathrin inhibitors (Pitstop 2c/2d) that block endocytic processes while minimizing toxicity, with applications in virology and cell biology.
Labs/Teams:
Member of the Freund Group's Protein Biochemistry lab focusing on structural immunology and viral pathogenesis.
