Angela Harris is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University, where she joined in August 2018 as part of the Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program cluster hire in Global Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (Global WaSH). Her research focuses on characterizing human exposure pathways of fecal contamination and developing methods to interrupt pathogen transmission to protect public health, combining computational modeling, laboratory experiments, and fieldwork.
- Education
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology
- Master of Science and Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Stanford University
Harris conducts fieldwork in Tanzania, Kenya, and Bangladesh, aiming to collaborate with Global WaSH cluster members on high-impact research to improve marginalized communities’ access to safe water and sanitation.
