Dr. Figueiredo's research critically examines Black feminist epistemologies, decolonial theory, and structural inequalities, with empirical focus on the Black middle class in Brazil and knowledge production within African diaspora contexts. Her work bridges sociology, gender studies, and critical race theory to analyze intersectional oppression in Latin American societies.
She founded and coordinates the Angela Davis Collective—a Black feminist research group in Brazil—and the International Black Feminist Decolonial School, which advance decolonial pedagogy and transnational feminist activism through scholarly networks and community engagement.
