Professor Angela Dew is a leading academic in Disability and Inclusion at Deakin University's School of Health and Social Development. She holds a Professorial appointment in the Faculty of Health and is affiliated with the Institute for Health Transformation. Her work focuses on improving healthcare access and quality of life for underserved populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, refugees with disability, and rural/remote residents.

Her recent projects include co-designing healthcare resources for LGBTQA+ people with disability and developing patient-reported measures for intellectual disability populations. She has pioneered inclusive arts-based research approaches and led international collaborations in Canada and Australia.
Key achievements include the 2023 Excellence in Communicating with Refugee Communities Award for her work with Syrian/Iraqi refugee families and a 2021 mid-career fellowship to study refugee journeys. She currently supervises four PhD students exploring criminal justice experiences, restrictive practices, and family support networks.
