Corrinne Sullivan is a Professor and Department Associate Dean (Indigenous Education) at the School of Social Sciences, Western Sydney University, and serves as an International Visiting Scholar at Toronto Metropolitan University's Centre of Excellence for Research on Equity and Communities (CERC) in Health Equity and Community Wellbeing. An Aboriginal scholar from the Wiradjuri Nation in Central-West New South Wales, she leads initiatives in Indigenous education and research.
Her interdisciplinary research examines the experiences and effects of body and identity among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through the dual lenses of Indigenous Studies and Human Geography. She investigates how spatial and place-based dynamics impact community wellbeing, with specific focus on health equity, disability inclusion, and the social determinants affecting Indigenous populations. Her work integrates Indigenous knowledge systems to address systemic disparities in healthcare access and community resilience.
As an International Visiting Scholar within CERC's framework, she contributes to research streams including Indigenous Health and Disability, collaborating on projects like 'Walking My Path: The Lived Experiences of Indigenous Gender and/or Sexuality Diverse Peoples' and 'Dalarinji, Your Story: Understanding and Promoting the Social and Emotional Well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQ Young People.' Her leadership supports knowledge mobilization efforts aimed at transforming policy and practice through community-centered methodologies.
