Dr. Angela Cameron is an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, joining in 2008. She holds a Doctorate from the University of Victoria (2012) and has been recognized for her community work with the Order of Ottawa (2018) and multiple teaching/excellence awards, including the APUO Award for Excellence in Teaching (2024).
Her research focuses on critical feminist perspectives in law, particularly in assisted human reproduction, LGBTQ+ family law, human rights law, sociological approaches to law, and Indigenous-settler relations. She has contributed to SSHRC-funded research projects such as "Surrogates Voices: Exploring Surrogate's Experiences and Insights" and "Gender and Impact Benefit Agreements" and co-edited influential books on Indigenous property and surrogacy law.
She has held leadership roles as English co-editor of the Canadian Journal of Women and the Law (2020-2024), member of the Canadian Association of Law Teachers' Board of Directors (2014-2023), and Chair of FAFIA (2014-2019). Her teaching includes Property Law, Gender and Law, graduate seminars, and coordination of the Truth and Reconciliation course.
