Alicia Czarnowski is a part-time professor at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law, and a PhD candidate focusing on health law, assisted human reproduction, and empirical legal studies.

Her research investigates surrogacy practices in Canada and reproductive technology governance, using empirical methods to analyze regulatory frameworks. Prior work examined Canadian Blood Services as a model for pan-Canadian governance of reproductive technologies.

- McCarthy Tetrault LLP Second Year Prize for highest standing in the JD Program
- Osgoode Society Prize for Canadian Legal History, awarded to the top 10 graduating students
