Angela C. Jenks is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Irvine, and serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in the Office of Inclusive Excellence. She also holds the role of Editor-in-Chief of the Teaching and Learning Anthropology Journal. Her work bridges medical anthropology, science and technology studies, race and medicine, and anthropology pedagogy, emphasizing liberatory educational practices and health equity. She has contributed to collaborative projects like the #COVIDSyllabus, advocating for open-access, justice-oriented pedagogy. Jenks was honored with the American Anthropological Association Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in 2021, recognizing her impactful teaching and mentorship. Her research explores marginalized voices in health social movements and the democratization of knowledge through community archives and syllabi initiatives.
