Beth E. Bukoski

Beth E. Bukoski is an Associate Professor and Director of the Ed.D. in Leadership Program at Virginia Commonwealth University's School of Education. Her work focuses on higher education equity, social justice, and intersectional identities. She holds a Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Texas at Austin, alongside degrees from Virginia Tech.

Her research explores gender, race, and LGBTQ+ inclusion in educational institutions, utilizing feminist and critical theories. Notable contributions include analyzing LGBTQ+ inclusion initiatives, Black faculty experiences in the #BlackLivesMatter era, and systemic barriers faced by working mothers in academia. Bukoski has received the 2021 Dean’s Distinguished Career Faculty Award for her impactful work.

Bukoski teaches using liberatory pedagogies emphasizing diversity and social justice. She serves in professional organizations like CAHEP and advocates for inclusive educational spaces through service at institutional and national levels. Her recent publications address graduate admissions reform, marginalized student experiences, and faculty labor dynamics.
