Angela C. Glaros

Dr. Angela C. Glaros is an Associate Professor at Eastern Illinois University with dual appointments in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, & Criminology and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Her office is located in Blair Hall, and she holds virtual office hours weekly.

Research Focus: Her anthropological work centers on:

• Ethnomusicology and cultural performance (especially Greek traditions)
• Intersections of gender, identity, and power
• European cultural studies and ethnographic methods

Publications: Her 6 recent articles (2009-2016) analyze music as a lens for understanding social dynamics in Greece, critique body politics in LGBTQ+ communities, and explore academic challenges. Thematically, they cluster around cultural authority, collaborative research, and identity formation.
