معرفی
Professor Anette Müllertz is a distinguished researcher and academic at the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences (SUND), University of Copenhagen, Denmark. She serves as Director of The Bioneer-FARMA Center and leads the Research Group for Rational Oral Drug Delivery (RODD group). With a PhD in Engineering, Professor Müllertz has established herself as a leading expert in oral drug delivery systems, particularly for poorly soluble compounds.
Her educational background includes a PhD from DTU (Technical University of Denmark), and she has held various academic positions including Professor (current), Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences (FARMA), and Research Scientist at Novo Nordisk A/S.
Professor Müllertz's research focuses on innovative approaches to enhance drug delivery of small molecules, with special emphasis on lipid-based drug delivery systems. Her work spans from developing biorelevant gastrointestinal media and digestion models to studying absorption mechanisms and conducting bioavailability studies. She has pioneered methods for simulating gastrointestinal conditions and has made significant contributions to understanding how lipid formulations can improve the solubility and absorption of poorly soluble drugs.
Her research group has been instrumental in developing predictive in vitro models that correlate with in vivo performance, addressing one of the major challenges in pharmaceutical development. The work has significant implications for improving drug efficacy and reducing development costs for pharmaceutical companies.
- 2005 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist's Lipid-Based Drug Delivery Award
- 2009 FARMA prize for raising most funding
She has supervised 23 PhD students (9 ongoing), co-supervised 7 PhD students (1 ongoing), and mentored numerous postdoctoral researchers. Her teaching responsibilities include advanced courses on drug delivery and human digestion and absorption.
Professor Müllertz leads multiple research initiatives including the IMI EU consortium OrBiTo, the Villum Kann Rasmussen Centre of Excellence "Namec," and collaborates with major pharmaceutical companies through various consortia. Her work is supported by substantial funding from public and private sources, totaling millions of Danish kroner.
