Andy Lawrence is a Senior Lecturer and Filmmaker-in-Residence at the Granada Centre for Visual Anthropology, University of Manchester. He holds visiting professorships at the University of Bern and Freie Universität Berlin, and convenes the F4F™ Summer School at Futureworks School of Media. His work bridges anthropology and documentary filmmaking, exploring themes like childbirth, death, identity, and the human condition across the UK, India, and Peru.

Lawrence specializes in ethnographic filmmaking, audio-visual research methods, and empirical art. His projects, such as Horror In The Andes and Black Snow (2018 AHRC award winner), highlight interdisciplinary approaches to understanding social phenomena. His research contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through cross-disciplinary collaboration.
His recent publications focus on the intersection of neuroscience and social behavior (2020) and innovative methodologies in organizational studies (2019). These works emphasize affect theory, temporal analysis, and artistic practice in academic research.
