Andy Huckaba serves as a part-time Lecturer at the University of Kansas Public Management Center, teaching courses in management, leadership, communications, and ethics. He is President of Huckaba & Associates, a management consulting firm specializing in strategy and leadership, and holds certifications as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation.
His research interests span public administration, civic leadership, and broadband infrastructure policy. As a founding member of the Ad Astra Coach Alliance and coaching faculty member at the Kansas Leadership Center, he integrates practical governance experience with academic instruction. His civic engagement includes advising the FCC through the Intergovernmental Advisory Committee and shaping national broadband policy as former Chair of the National League of Cities' Information, Technology and Communications committee.
Huckaba's practical expertise stems from over two decades as an elected official (three-term Lenexa City Councilman) and leadership roles in regional organizations including the Mid-American Regional Council’s Public Safety Communications Board and Kansas City Metro area Digital Leadership Team. He actively consults for nonprofit and government entities while contributing to public sector leadership development through multiple board appointments.
