Mary Judene Nance serves as an Assistant Instructional Professor of Management within the College of Business at Pittsburg State University. With over three decades of professional experience, she provides specialized consulting services to Midwest public-sector entities and private businesses, focusing on strategic implementation and economic development initiatives.
Her professional expertise centers on Economic Development, Strategic Planning, and Survey Research, with demonstrated proficiency in designing multi-platform surveys, developing county/city strategic plans, and managing economic development activities including enterprise zones and CDBG grant financing. Her work bridges academic theory with practical municipal applications across Kansas communities.
Professor Nance maintains active civic engagement through service as Pittsburg City Commissioner and membership on the Economic Development Advisory Committee. She has executed research projects for Lenexa, Newton, and Pittsburg, Kansas, while collaborating with SEK Inc.—a 13-county regional business alliance—to advance regional economic strategies.
