Andy Burrows

Andy Burrows is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Bath and Associate Dean (Education) within the Faculty of Science. He is affiliated with the Centre for Sustainable Chemical Technologies (CSCT), the Centre for Integrated Materials, Processes & Structures (IMPS), and the Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change. His research focuses on metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and porous materials, with applications in post-synthetic modification, biologically active materials, and hydrogen storage. He holds a PhD and BA in Chemistry from the University of Oxford.

Research Interests:

His work spans post-synthetic modification of MOFs for catalysis and gas adsorption, biologically active MOFs for controlled release of semiochemicals, and flexible porous materials for hydrogen storage. His research contributes to sustainable development goals related to clean energy and responsible consumption.

• GKN Prosperity Partnership (2023–2028): Focuses on hydrogen storage and aerospace applications.
• Leverhulme Trust-funded project on semiochemical release via porous materials (2019–2023).
