Dr. Andy Baldwin is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Bolton's School of Sport & Biological Sciences. He serves as programme leader for the BSc (Hons) Medical Biology and co-programme leader for the BEng (Hons) Biomedical Engineering. His teaching portfolio includes molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Baldwin holds an undergraduate degree in Molecular Cell Biology and a PhD from the University of Nottingham, where his research focused on DNA-lipid interactions in liposomal gene delivery systems under Professor Martyn Davies.
His research integrates cell-matrix biology and biophysics, with current projects on novel scaffold design for tissue engineering, supported by undergraduate students. He maintains active collaborations with the University of Manchester, leveraging his nine years of post-doctoral experience in matrix biology under Professor Cay Kielty.
