معرفی
Andrés Mújica Fernaud is a Full Professor at the University of La Laguna, specializing in high-pressure materials research and computational materials science. His work focuses on structural and electronic properties of inorganic materials under extreme conditions, including phase transitions, crystallographic behavior, and ab initio calculations. He has contributed extensively to understanding polymorphic transformations in III-V compounds, rare earth oxides, and nuclear waste materials.
Key research areas include high-pressure synthesis of novel materials, pressure-induced metallization, and thermodynamic stability analysis. His studies employ advanced techniques such as X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and density functional theory (DFT) simulations.
Over 40 years of publications (1992–2025) reflect a sustained focus on structural stability under compression, with recent emphasis on GaP, GaAs, and zirconolite materials. His research bridges fundamental physics with applications in energy storage, semiconductor technology, and nuclear waste management.
