André Samson is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Ottawa, since 2003. His work focuses on career development, psychosocial adaptation to chronic illness, and qualitative research in educational counseling.
- Education: Ph.D. in School and Vocational Counseling (Université Laval, 2002), M.A. in Individual Counseling (Université Saint-Paul, 1986), Certificat in Group Facilitation (1987).
His research explores life transitions across adolescence and adulthood, emphasizing career choice theory, workplace mental health, and adaptation to chronic illness. Recent articles highlight cross-cultural ADHD treatment implementation, Franco-Ontarian vocational identity, and psychosocial support systems.
Key article trends include career counseling frameworks, mental health interventions, and qualitative studies on minority populations. Grants from CIHR, Ontario ministries, and health institutions support his work.
He teaches courses in counseling ethics, psychometrics, and career theories, with office hours on Mondays (2:00 PM - 5:30 PM) in Lamoureux Hall. He is a member of the Ordre des conseillers d'orientation du Québec.
