André Nogueira is the Deputy Director and Research Scientist at the Design Laboratory of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where he also serves as an Instructor in the Department of Health Policy and Management. He holds a PhD in Design for Sustainability and Equity from the IIT Institute of Design and has a background in architecture, urban design, and geography. His work focuses on leveraging design frameworks to address complex well-being challenges in public health, sustainability, and social innovation.

- MSc in Contemporary Urban Planning
- Dual Bachelor’s in Architecture and Urban Design
- Research Interests: Design for social innovation, systems change, circular economy, sustainable food systems, post-industrial territories, and equitable public policy. He challenges traditional data-driven approaches by exploring future-oriented solutions.
- Funding & Partnerships: Supported by USAID, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Kresge Foundation, and others. Projects include pandemic life analysis, tuberculosis interventions, and environmental conservation strategies.
- Teaching & Mentorship: Teaches Design for Social Innovation at Harvard and IIT, mentoring students from public health, policy, business, and design. Advises corporate and nonprofit leaders globally on building design capacities.
