معرفی
Andrey Rogachev is a Professor of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Utah, where he has served as a faculty member since 2013, advancing from Associate Professor (2013-2021) to full Professor (2021-present). His research program focuses on quantum phenomena in condensed matter systems, particularly quantum phase transitions and superconductor-insulator behavior in nanoscale materials.
Rogachev received his PhD in Applied Physics from Nagoya University, Japan in 2000. His academic journey has been dedicated to understanding fundamental quantum phenomena in low-dimensional systems, with emphasis on experimental investigations of superconducting and disordered materials.
His research interests center on condensed matter physics with specific expertise in Mesoscopic Superconductivity and Magnetism, Quantum Phase Transitions, Superconductor-Insulator Transition, Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and Electron Transport and Noise in Disordered Systems. His experimental approach combines precision electrical measurements with noise spectroscopy to probe microscopic mechanisms in quantum materials.
Analysis of his recent publications reveals a consistent focus on quantum critical phenomena across diverse material systems. His work establishes connections between microscopic length scales, Planckian time, and universal behavior in quantum phase transitions. The research spans from fundamental theoretical frameworks to practical applications in nanoelectronics and energy technologies.
- NSF CAREER Award (2009)
Rogachev has secured multiple significant research grants from the National Science Foundation, including the EAGER: SUPER grant (2021-2024) on high-temperature superconductivity in 2D organic materials and previous grants on quantum phase transitions in superconducting nanowires and films (2019-2023) and organic magnetoresistance (2012). His teaching portfolio includes advanced courses in Statistical Mechanics and extensive supervision of PhD and Master's thesis research.
