Jun Chen is a Research Professor at the Swanson School of Engineering, University of Pittsburgh. His research focuses on quantum nanoelectronics, nanofabrication techniques, and topological states in materials. He holds a BS from Wuhan University (2003-2007) and a PhD from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (2007-2012).
His work explores superconducting nanowire devices, Majorana bound states, and topological insulators. Recent studies include quantum transport phenomena in semiconductor-superconductor hybrids, tunable plasmonic systems, and advanced material fabrication methods. His contributions span interdisciplinary areas such as nanotechnology, condensed matter physics, and biomedical engineering.
Publications highlight advancements in superconductivity, nanowire-based devices, and functional surface engineering. Collaborations include experimental and theoretical studies on quantum dots, topological phases, and energy-harvesting meta-materials. His research bridges fundamental physics with practical applications in electronics and biotechnology.
