Andrew Woods is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Technologies and UX at the Department of Media Arts, Royal Holloway, University of London. He specializes in interdisciplinary prototyping, UX testing, and multisensory perception research, collaborating with institutions like the University of Surrey and Abertay University. His work focuses on advancing National Lab R&D through creative technology projects.
Education: PhD in Psychology (Temporal and Spatial factors in multisensory integration) from Trinity College Dublin (2005). Research interests include VR/AR applications, sensory integration, and immersive storytelling for environmental and behavioral change. He contributed to the 2021 StoryFutures Audience Insight Report analyzing user experiences across Extended Reality platforms.
Recent projects include developing no-internet VR headset control systems (TestXR Project) and investigating audience impacts in virtual environments. He has secured grants from Innovate UK and the Department for Education, leading roles in projects like TestXR and StoryFutures as a Fellow.
