Andrew Wollner is an Associate Professor of Visual Communication Design at the Hartford Art School, University of Hartford. With a background spanning fine art painting, print design, and digital UI/UX, Wollner brings interdisciplinary perspectives to design education. He maintains an active design practice through Wollner Design, serving clients including the Armenian Museum of America and New Britain Museum of American Art.
Wollner's teaching encompasses typography, image-making, design systems, and senior projects. His research includes mobile application development such as the Color Chain color blending tool and Teddy and Pig video game. Community-engaged projects under his direction include exhibition designs for the Santa Fe Children's Museum and New Mexico History Museum, blending design education with real-world applications.
Awards recognizing Wollner's contributions include an International Center Grant for study abroad program development, selection for the Valley Venture Mentorship program, and the AIGA New Mexico Showdown Award. His leadership roles include serving as Education Director for AIGA New Mexico and directing statewide portfolio reviews.
