Andrew W. Martin is a Professor of Studio Art in the School of Art at Texas Tech University, specializing in drawing and painting. Holding an M.F.A. from UCLA and B.F.A. from University of New Mexico, he joined TTU in 1995 after teaching at Bowling Green State University and University of Toledo.
His research focuses on traditional and experimental approaches to visual arts. Martin has chaired 24 graduate thesis committees and served on over 50 others. Administrative roles include coordinating the MFA program (2003-2009), Associate Director of the School of Art, and Interim Dean of the College of Visual & Performing Arts.
As a practicing artist, Martin has exhibited in 14 solo exhibitions and over 130 juried shows internationally, with works in collections across the US and South Korea. His professional service includes leading accreditation teams for the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.
