Adriana Burgos is a Professor of Foundation Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), a position she has held since 2001. Her academic journey includes an M.F.A. in painting from SCAD and a B.F.A. in graphic design from the University of Costa Rica. She has also held roles such as Assistant Director of Campus Printing (1999–2001) and Teaching Assistant in drawing at SCAD (1998).
Her creative work spans painting, drawing, and exhibition design. Notable recognitions include the William and Dorothy Yeck award (Best of Show) in 2000 and an honorary mention in the First National Computer Art contest (1993). Her artistic output includes solo exhibitions like Totems & Trials (2001) and Allegories (1999), alongside juried shows such as The Luster of Silver (2006) and Young American Painters (2000).
Burgos has contributed to academic and cultural institutions, including internships at the National Museum of American Art (Smithsonian Institution) and exhibitions in New York, Ohio, and Costa Rica. Her teaching and creative practice emphasize foundational art education and interdisciplinary visual arts.
