Kenneth Knowles

Kenneth (Kent) Knowles is a Professor of Painting at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Atlanta, and has held leadership roles including Associate Chair of Fine Arts since 2022. He previously served as Associate Dean of Fine Arts and Foundation Studies (2015–2018), and has been a Professor at SCAD since 2006. Knowles holds an M.F.A. from the University of Georgia and a B.F.A. in Painting from SCAD.

His research and creative work focuses on contemporary painting, with exhibitions spanning solo shows such as Passage (2016) and Lucius and the Storm (2007), and group exhibitions in venues like the Telfair Museum and Kai Lin Art. His writing appears in Delta Sky Magazine and Art Papers, emphasizing art critique and cultural documentation.

Knowles has curated exhibitions and contributed to academic publications, including reviews analyzing regional art trends and contemporary practices. His administrative roles reflect expertise in art education and institutional leadership within fine arts disciplines.
