Andrew Udy is a full-time Professor of Acute & Critical Care at Monash University, affiliated with The Alfred ICU in Melbourne. He completed his medical training at the University of Auckland, followed by ICU specialization in New Zealand, the UK, and Australia. His academic roles include Secretary of the ANZICS Clinical Trials Group (CTG) Committee and Co-Deputy Director of the Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre, Monash University.
- Key Roles: Neurocritical Care Special Interest Group Chair, Intensive Care Medicine Educator (BASIC/ALS/ECMO courses)
- Research Focus: Optimized drug prescribing in critical illness, sepsis management, traumatic brain injury, ECMO, and critical care nutrition
He leads major research projects including the RECOMMEND ECMO platform trial, national sepsis care initiatives, and nutrition optimization studies. His work spans clinical trials, multicenter observational studies, and translational research in critical care.
