Andrew Tomlinson

Andrew Tomlinson, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He serves as Medical Director of the Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory and Co-Director of the Simulation Program for the Internal Medicine residency program. His roles include involvement with the clinical competency committee for the pulmonary and critical care fellowship and the curriculum committee.

Education: B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University (College Station), M.D. from UT Southwestern Medical Center, residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Colorado (Denver), and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UT Southwestern, where he was Chief Fellow.

Research interests focus on general pulmonary medicine, pulmonary physiology, and medical education innovation. Professional affiliations include Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, and American College of Sports Medicine.

Administrative leadership includes roles in residency program development and competency evaluation systems. Active in curriculum design and clinical laboratory oversight within pulmonary medicine.
