Andrew Tomlinson

Andrew Tomlinson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he joined the faculty in 2016. He is a member of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine and serves as the Medical Director of the Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory. Additionally, he is Co-Director of the Simulation Program for the Internal Medicine residency program. Dr. Tomlinson is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of several professional societies including the Texas Medical Association, Dallas County Medical Society, American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, and American College of Sports Medicine.

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University
• Medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical Center
• Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Colorado in Denver
• Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center (Chief Fellow)

Dr. Tomlinson's research and clinical interests focus on general pulmonary medicine, pulmonary physiology, and medical education. His expertise in pulmonary physiology is applied in the clinical setting through the Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory, and he is dedicated to advancing medical education via simulation-based training and curriculum development.

Dr. Tomlinson is actively involved in the education and evaluation of trainees. He serves on the clinical competency committee for the pulmonary and critical care fellowship and the curriculum committee, and co-directs the Simulation Program for the Internal Medicine residency. His leadership in these roles contributes significantly to the training of future physicians.

As Medical Director of the Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory, Dr. Tomlinson oversees a team that conducts diagnostic tests for respiratory conditions. This laboratory is integral to both patient care and research in pulmonary medicine at UT Southwestern.
