Professor Andrew Tettenborn is a distinguished academic in Commercial and Maritime Law at Swansea University, leading the Institute of Shipping and International Trade Law. He joined in 2010 from the University of Exeter and teaches widely in private law, commercial law, and maritime law. His research focuses on contract law principles, maritime governance, and the legal implications of emerging technologies like AI and blockchain in shipping. He has co-edited influential texts such as Disruptive Technologies, Climate Change and Shipping and contributes to international legal frameworks for autonomous shipping and climate resilience. Tettenborn also lectures at the University of Geneva on contract law and collaborates with institutions globally on maritime legal challenges.
