Andrew Sherwood is a Professor in Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and Psychology & Neuroscience at Duke University. His research focuses on biological, behavioral, and sociocultural factors in hypertension, coronary artery disease, and congestive heart failure, with emphasis on stress and autonomic nervous system mechanisms. He holds appointments in Trinity College of Arts & Sciences.
Education: PhD from University of Hull (UK, 1982).
Research interests include ethnicity/gender influences in hypertension pathogenesis, menopause-related cardiovascular risk, and mechanisms linking stress to disease progression.
