Andrew Scherer is a Professor of Law and Policy Director of the Wilf Impact Center for Public Interest Law at New York Law School. He directs the Housing Rights Clinic and the Right to Counsel Project, and co-directs the Housing Justice Leadership Institute. His work focuses on housing law, eviction prevention, and access to justice, particularly in civil matters. He played a pivotal role in establishing New York City's groundbreaking right-to-counsel legislation in 2017, which inspired similar policies nationwide and globally.
