Andrew Rooke is Lecturer in Media Practice at Queen Margaret University's Media, Communication and Performing Arts Division. An award-winning filmmaker, his practice-based research explores masculine identity construction through cinematic narrative techniques.
Research & Creative Work: Doctoral project investigates homosocial bonding in film production contexts. Films screen internationally at venues including Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival and Edinburgh Indie Film Festival, with industry experience in commercial production and camera work for Scottish film sector.
Teaching: Develops practice modules integrating theoretical frameworks from gender studies and cultural theory. Previously taught at University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College.
