معرفی
Andrew Robert Beadling is an Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Birmingham. His work focuses on improving medical device efficacy through advanced tribology and preclinical testing methodologies. He holds a PhD (2017) and MEng (2011) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds.
Research emphasizes tribology of biomedical implants, particularly total hip replacements and spinal instrumentation. Key areas include tribocorrosion mechanisms, patient-centered testing standards, and linking lab studies to clinical outcomes. His work is funded by EPSRC and industrial partners.
- Education: PhD Mechanical Engineering (University of Leeds, 2017)
- Awards: FHEA (2024), AMIMechE
- Funding: Co-Investigator in EPSRC grants
Publications span 2023-2025, addressing topics like physiological loading effects, fretting corrosion in spinal systems, and advanced biomaterial surfaces for cartilage repair.
