Dr. Andrew Roach is a Professor in the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services at Georgia State University’s College of Education & Human Development, where he also coordinates the School Psychology Ph.D. program. He specializes in inclusive education, mindfulness practices, and transition services for students with disabilities. His research emphasizes establishing inclusive programs and implementing mindfulness interventions in educational settings.
Roach co-leads the CARE for Special Educators Project, a multi-year grant focused on teacher resilience, and co-founded the IDEAL Program, an inclusive postsecondary education initiative for students with intellectual disabilities. He is involved in leadership development programs like the Georgia Leadership Education in Neurodevelopment and AUCD Leadership Academy. His work has been recognized with awards such as the Lightner Witmer Early Career Research Award (2010) and the Outstanding Faculty Research Mentoring Award (2021).
Roach’s recent publications explore topics like academic enablers in inclusive settings, mindfulness interventions for parents and preschoolers, and improving transition services for students with disabilities. His research bridges policy, practice, and community engagement to foster equitable educational opportunities.
