Andrew Petts is a Lecturer in the Department of Sport at Hartpury University, where he also serves as a Performance Nutritionist in the Sports Academy. He teaches across several programs, including modules such as Introduction to Sports Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, and Professional Practice in Sports Nutrition. His professional background is deeply rooted in elite sports, having worked with professional rugby clubs including Bristol Bears, Bedford Blues, and Bristol Rugby.
His expertise lies in sports and performance nutrition, strength and conditioning, and applied sport science. He has previously held roles as Head of Strength and Conditioning at Bedford Blues and Performance Nutritionist at Bristol Bears. His academic journey includes a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, an MSc in Strength and Conditioning, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Nutrition. He is currently completing an Academic Professional Apprenticeship and Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice at the University of West London.
Andrew is actively engaged in professional development and academic practice, having presented at conferences on the impact of foundation year programs in higher education. He also serves as a Consultant Nutritionist for Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, maintaining strong links between academia and elite sport.
