Andrew Peterson is a Senior Lecturer in History and Civics Education at the University of South Australia where he coordinates Secondary Humanities and Social Sciences pre-service teacher education courses. His academic profile reflects a strong commitment to educational research and leadership within the field.
His research focuses on three primary areas: (i) philosophical understandings of key curricular concepts and their implications for classroom implementation; (ii) stakeholder perspectives (school leaders, teachers, student teachers, and pupils) on central concepts in civic, moral, and history education; and (iii) the complex relationships between schools and their communities. These interconnected research strands demonstrate his comprehensive approach to educational theory and practice.
