معرفی
Andrew Peacock is an Honorary Professor and Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the School of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Health at the University of Glasgow. He specializes in pulmonary hypertension, with a focus on clinical, molecular, and imaging-based research.
His research interests include the pathophysiology of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), treatment strategies combining novel therapies, and the application of advanced imaging techniques (e.g., MRI, impedance cardiography). He also explores genetic and genomic factors underlying rare diseases, such as primary immunodeficiencies and PAH. His work bridges clinical practice, drug development, and molecular mechanisms.
Recent publications highlight studies on combination drug therapies for PAH patients with cardiac comorbidities, transcriptomic profiling of PAH subtypes, and validation of non-invasive imaging tools. His earlier work includes investigations into molecular pathways (e.g., p38 MAPK inhibition) and clinical outcomes in PAH subpopulations like pregnant patients and those with portopulmonary hypertension.
No scientific awards are listed. His collaborations include researchers at the Bhf Cardiovascular Research Centre and international teams. He has advised on clinical trials and contributed to guidelines for PH diagnosis and treatment.
