Dr Noble's research centers on employment law with concentrated expertise in criminal records disclosures, gig economy vulnerabilities, and precarious work structures. He critically examines regulatory impacts on licensed occupations—particularly taxi drivers—and bridges contract law, tort law, and human rights frameworks to address systemic worker disadvantages in evolving labor markets.
His publication trajectory reveals acute focus on technology-driven regulatory disruption, especially Uber's impact on traditional taxi licensing, alongside persistent analysis of criminal record disclosure consequences. Recent work increasingly connects criminal justice data systems with employment barriers, while his foundational scholarship explores constitutional tensions between state regulatory power and individual rights in occupational contexts.
Dr Noble supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research projects across business management and HRM programs. His research secured external funding including an Essex Council grant for migration studies. Professional affiliations encompass Academic Associate status at the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD), membership in the Institute for Learning, and the Institute for Law Teaching & Learning (USA). Media engagements include BBC Look East discussions on gig economy impacts and BB Radio Kent analysis of Supreme Court employment rulings.
