Dr. Andrew Nash is a Reader in Book History and Director of the London Rare Books School at the Institute of English Studies, University of London. His research focuses on the history of the book since 1750, Victorian and twentieth-century literature, Scottish literary history, and publishing archives. He leads the London Rare Books School, a renowned program for advanced study in book history.
His research interests include the history of publishing, authorship, literary archives, and the material culture of books. He has authored and edited numerous books, including volumes on J.M. Barrie, Scottish literature, and Victorian publishing. His work bridges historical analysis with critical studies, examining how books and their production shape literary culture.
Key projects include the Cambridge History of the Book in Britain, Vol. 7 and collaborative research on the Society of Authors (1884–1914). He has held grants from the Leverhulme Trust and other institutions, focusing on professionalization in literary publishing and authorship.
