Andrew N. Goldberg, MD, MSCE, FACS is a Professor and Vice Chair in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He specializes in surgeries for Chronic Sinusitis, Inverted Papilloma, Minimally Invasive Skull Base Surgery, and Snoring/Sleep Apnea Surgery. His research focuses on airway inflammation in chronic sinusitis and asthma, leveraging basic and translational science techniques.
Dr. Goldberg received his MD from Boston University, completed a general surgery internship at Los Angeles County-Harbor/UCLA Medical Center, residency at the University of Pittsburgh Eye and Ear Hospital, and a fellowship in Clinical Epidemiology at the National Cancer Institute. He also holds an MSCE in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania.
His expertise includes endoscopic sinus surgery, clinical research, and medical education. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to 40+ book chapters. Awards include the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators Excellence in Teaching Award and recognition as a 'Best Doctor' in multiple regional listings.
Dr. Goldberg is a Fellow of the American Rhinologic Society and Triological Society, among others. His work spans surgical innovation, microbiome research in sinusitis, and multidisciplinary approaches to obstructive sleep apnea.
