Andrew Melnyk is a Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Missouri. His research focuses on philosophy of mind, philosophy of science, and metaphysics, particularly defending physicalism (or materialism) through the lens of realization theory. He is a member of the Heterodox Academy and the Academic Freedom Alliance.

His publications, including the 2025 book Phenomenal Properties and the Intuition of Distinctness, critically engage with two-dimensionalism, supervenience, and the scientific plausibility of physicalism. His teaching includes Philosophy of Mind and Philosophy of Science courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
