Andrew McLaughlin is a Lecturer in Law at Stanford Law School and holds academic fellowships at Columbia University, Princeton University, and Harvard Law School's Berkman Center. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at SandboxAQ, a leader in AI and quantum technologies, and co-founder of Higher Ground Labs, a venture firm supporting pro-democracy startups. McLaughlin has extensive board roles, including at Globant, the Starknet Foundation, and Access Now, focusing on digital rights. He previously held senior roles at Google, ICANN, and the Obama White House, advising on tech policy and cybersecurity. Educated at Yale (BA in History) and Harvard Law School (JD), his research spans internet governance, privacy, and democratic institutions. Notable awards include Time Magazine's 'Digital Dozen' (2000) and recognition as a World Economic Forum Global Leader for Tomorrow (2001).
