Alan Raul is a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School and Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown. He specializes in privacy, cybersecurity, and technology governance, advising on global regulatory compliance, crisis management, and AI ethics. A former Vice Chairman of the U.S. Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board, he holds national security clearance and has served in senior government roles, including General Counsel at the USDA and OMB. His education includes a J.D. from Yale Law School, M.P.A. from Harvard Kennedy School, and A.B. from Harvard College.
Research & Expertise: Focuses on privacy law, cybersecurity risks, AI policy, constitutional law, and digital governance. Teaches courses like “Digital Governance: Privacy, AI & IT” and “Cybersecurity Risks & Responsibilities” at Harvard.
