Andrew Macmillan is a Senior Research Fellow at the UCO School of Osteopathy at Health Sciences University (HSU), formerly known as AECC University College. He has extensive experience teaching at various institutions, having served as Deputy Course Leader and Unit Leader for Research at the UCO.
Dr. Macmillan's research expertise centers on methodological approaches in healthcare research, with particular emphasis on systematic and scoping review methodologies. His scholarly work spans diverse topics related to medical education and healthcare delivery systems. As an active researcher, he regularly publishes in academic journals and serves as a reviewer for several publications in his field. His methodological rigor has established him as a recognized expert in evidence synthesis techniques applied to healthcare contexts.
Complementing his academic work, Andrew maintains an active clinical practice as an Advanced Practice Osteopath in a community Rheumatology setting while also running a private osteopathic practice. This dual commitment to both research and clinical practice provides him with valuable real-world insights that inform his academic work and teaching.
As an educator, Dr. Macmillan regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students across various healthcare disciplines. He also serves as an Advanced Practice centre reviewer for NHS England, demonstrating his standing within the broader healthcare community. His professional credentials include MOst, PGCME, and PGCet SPOP, reflecting his commitment to ongoing professional development in both clinical practice and educational methodology.
