Andrew Lucchesi is an Associate Professor in the English Department at Western Washington University and Co-Director of the Institute for Critical Disability Studies. They hold a PhD focused on the intersection of politics, technology, and disability in higher education. Their research explores disability studies, rhetoric, accessible pedagogy, and comics as cultural artifacts. Lucchesi teaches courses on disability studies, rhetorical analysis of graphic texts, and comics as literature.
Research Projects:
- Investigating disability representation in contemporary comics.
- Analyzing institutional discourse on disability through critical discourse analysis.
- Co-editing a Palgrave Handbook series volume on Disability Studies and Comics Studies.
Affiliations: Co-founded the Institute for Critical Disability Studies (Fall 2022), housed within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Office hours include in-person (Tuesdays) and virtual (Wednesdays) availability.
