Andrew Kurt Thaw is a Professor of Psychology and Associate Dean of Science at Millsaps College, where he has been a faculty member for 25 years. He teaches courses in Neuroscience, Learning, Research Methods, and Serial Killers. Dr. Thaw holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Florida State University and completed post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Virginia (1994–1996) and Cornell Medical School (1997–1998).
His research focuses on Behavioral Neuroscience, specifically investigating hunger regulation, satiety mechanisms, taste responses, and gut-brain interactions. His work combines basic physiological research with applied health science, examining topics ranging from cytokine effects on feeding behavior to commercial weight loss interventions.
Dr. Thaw's publications demonstrate consistent focus on eating behaviors, with recent studies analyzing telehealth-based addiction frameworks (2021) and cytokine-regulated feeding intervals in animal models (2018). These reflect his multidisciplinary approach spanning neuroscience, psychology, and public health.
