Dr. Andrew Kirton is a Lecturer in Applied Ethics at the University of Leeds, based in the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science. He joined Leeds in 2018 after completing a British Academy-funded project on trust in institutions at the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the intersection of morality, trust, and human psychology, with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence ethics, cognitive dissonance, and the philosophy of science. He holds a PGCert in Counselling Theory and Practice and is committed to pedagogical reform to reduce 'gatekeeping' in teaching.
Education: BA, MRes, and PhD in Philosophy from the University of Manchester; PGCert in Interpersonal and Counselling Skills.

- Comparative rigor between sciences and pseudosciences
