Andrew Kenrick is an Associate Tutor and holds a Visiting Fellowship in the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia. His academic background includes a BA in Ancient History & Archaeology from the University of Birmingham (2002), an MA in Biography and Creative Non-fiction from UEA (2017), and a PhD in Life Writing from UEA (2023), focusing on African Kings, Roman Rule: The Life of Juba II and Cleopatra Selene of Mauretania. Prior to academia, he worked as an editor for over a decade.
His research interests center on 1st century BC/AD Rome, particularly the portrayal of race, ethnicity, and gender in antiquity, material culture, and innovative methodologies in biography writing. He emphasizes object-based approaches to life writing and non-fiction publishing.
