Andrew H. Miller is a Professor of English at Johns Hopkins University in the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. He is a distinguished scholar in nineteenth century British literature and the intersection of literature with moral philosophy. As the long-time editor of Victorian Studies and a founder of the North American Victorian Studies Association, he has significantly shaped the field.
His research explores themes of ethics, personal identity, and the cultural implications of literature. His publications, including On Not Being Someone Else (2020) and The Burdens of Perfection (2008), analyze moral philosophy through literary narratives and Victorian commodity culture.
